July 31st- Winner of the pony suitability class at the National Dressage Pony Cup breed show

June 14th- 74.4% Training 4 , High Score Young Horse award, High Score Training Level award in open division at Dressage at Fair Hill
June 13th - 67.2% Training 3 and 71.2% Training 4
May 24th- 68% Intro B and 65.7% Training 1 under 11 year old Gabrielle DiRusso.
May 2nd- 68% training 3 and 72% training 4. Training level champion.

In 2008 Merlot had successful showings at the Fair Hill Sport Horse Breed Show and Dressage at Devon.
Merlot, a beautiful sport pony standing at 14.2 hh is a super young prospect with a promising future. He is by the stallion *Friar Sion, a section A welsh pony who was shown extensively in international competitions. He brought home champion titles at major shows including Royal of England, Glanusk, and the International show in Switzerland. On the dam side, Dandy Danielle is a thoroughbred mare who was successfully evented.
Merlot has excellent conformation with good uphill balance and three quality gaits. As a 2 year old, Merlot was campaigned on the east coast in hand earning the title of 2007 WPSCA National Champion 1/2 Welsh in the 2 and under category. His adorable white face and flashy socks make him hard to miss in the show ring! He is a quiet and trainable pony which makes him a joy to work with.
He is consistently receiving scores of 8 in the collective marks including gaits and submission. His most recent showing was with an 11 year old and he earned competitive scores. He is currently schooling all first level work and ready to move up! He hacks out alone or with company and will also be working over fences during the fall and winter season.
