Dorina is a 2002 imported Don Bedo Westfalen mare. She is 17.1 hands and dark bay. She was imported from Germany in fall of 2005 right after she had completed her Mare Performance Test in Germany. At her test she was awarded Verband Premium and Gold Premium status. Her scores were as follows:

Walk 8.5
Trot 7.5
Canter 8.0
Overall Gaits 8.0
Rideability (Rider) 7.5
Rideability (Test Rider) 7.5
Free Jumping 6.5
Overall 7.49

During the last 2 years in the USA she has been trained and shown shown extensively. She regularly scores in the low - mid 70s and gets 7s and 8s on gaits.

In 2007 she won:

* USDF Westfalen All Breed Award, Reserve Champion for Training Level ( 68.00% median)
* USDF Westfalen All Breed Award, Third Place for First Level (67.00% median)
* Westfalen Association DSHB Award, First Place Mature Mare (71.775% median)
* Westfalen Association FEI 5-Year Old Award, Reserve Champion (6.8 median)
* USDF 8th place in the nation for 4-5 year old mares materiale (75.6% median)
* RMDS (Rocky Mountain Dressage Society) Young Horse Futurity Champion ( 71.75% average between Training and First Level Scores)
* USDF Region V Reserve Champion for Training Level (67.4%)
* USDF Region V 5th Place for First Level (63.4%)

Dorina is currently showing 2nd Level and schooling Third. She has been to many recognized shows in the last couple of years and has participated in clinics with Conrad Schumacher, Christine Traurig, Karen Lencyk, and Nicole Polligkeit. Conrad Schumacher said of her that as a 5-year old she "couldn't be better" and that she was definitely FEI material. During the 2007 competition year Dorina competed in the FEI 5 y.o. test several times and scored as high as a 7.6.

Dori is super easy to handle - great for the farrier and vet and frequently travels long distances to shows. We show frequently in Arizona and Colorado (7 - 10 hours each way) and she loves to be in the trailer. She self-loads and is very calm and well behaved. She is great on the show grounds and is the same horse everywhere she goes. She has even been known to finish a test in the 70's while it was so windy that the arena rails were blowing across the ring! Her amazingly easy and uncomplicated disposition makes her a great upper-level prospect for an amateur or a professional rider.

Dori was featured in USDF Connections, December 2007 edition, pg 40-41 "Thoroughly Modern Mare" for her amazing ability to produce babies using embryo transfer and show extensively at the same time. Dori's foals are very nice - good movers, very correct, and great dispositions.

In August of 2007 Dori was inspected and approved to be in the Hanoverian Main Mare Book. She scored an overall 7.5 with an 8.0 for her entire front-end and an 8 for elasticity, and won "Champion Non-Hanoverian Mare." She actually had the highest score of all mares there that day, including the Hanoverians. As such, she is in both the MMB of the Westfalens and the Hanoverians.

Dorina was the top scoring Westfalen mare of all Westfalen mares presented to the American Hanoverian Society in 2007, and she was the 15th highest ranking mare (including Hanoverian mares) presented. "The Westfalen mare SPS Dorina, by Don Bedo - SPS Dolde / Debuetant, owned by Gina Fisk, Los Alamos NM, was accepted into the AHS's Main Studbook with a final score of 7.5, highest of the day. Already a States Premium Mare in her own studbook, Dorina was a lovely mare with quite a beautiful expression, scoring an impressive series of 8's for her head, neck, saddle position, typiness and femininity, her trot and walk. She is definitely the type of mare we like to have in our breeding program." (The American Hanoverian Winter 2007/2008 edition, p. 43).
